ABOUT THE Session

Boiling down what your company/department/group does into a concise and memorable two-minute elevator pitch is one of the toughest communications challenges that a professional can face.

Most of us suffer from the “curse of knowledge.” Namely, you know so much about the nuances of your company, offerings and the products or services you provide, that it can feel nearly impossible to bundle your message into a tight and tidy package. 

This class will give you the tools you need to create an elevator pitch that’s vivid, strategic, memorable — and concise. 


WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • The neuroscience that shows why concrete examples and stories are more memorable than abstract concepts and facts;

  • How to put yourself in the shoes of your audience so your pitch hits the points they need to hear;

  • The key components that should be in your elevator pitch;

  • A simple formula for conveying what your company/department/group does in a way that's vivid, concise and memorable;

  • The value of using metaphors, analogies, and/or comparisons in your elevator pitch.

Our Learning Lab add-on class may be just the thing.  Learning Labs give participants a chance to bring in their own content and practice key skills for instructor feedback.  So that we can offer a personalized experience, we limit the number of attendees who can join each Learning Lab. Each participant will be asked to complete some light “pre-work” beforehand so they come to the session warmed up and ready to go.
